Answer:

X = 25.28

Explanation:

By Pitagoras Theorem:

9^2 + Y^2 =24^2

81 + Y^2 = 576

Y^2 = 495

Y = 22.25

Now Y is one catet for to find X

X^2 = 12^2 + 22.5^2

X^2 = 144 + 495

X^2 = 639

X = 25.28

Answer:

x = 32

Explanation:

The segments formed by the angle bisector will form a correct proportion when paired with their adjacent triangle sides

so

9/24 = 12/x

Cross multiply

9x = 24 * 12

9x = 288

x = 32
