Increase in floods, by process of elimination this appears to be best option. With fewer trees the speeds of water and run off increase which increases floods.

Increase in floods is the consequence of deforestation.

Answer: Option C

Step-by-step explanation:

The act of cutting down of trees form an area without any intention to establish any future stand of trees is known to be Deforestation.

It is also termed as clear cutting. There are many consequences that are related with the act of deforestation.

The deforestation consequences include global warming, increase in floods, soil erosion, biodiversity loss and change in climate.

Trees help in absorption and storing of larger amount of water when it rains. Due the act of deforestation, the flow of rainwater gets disturbed and these results in flood in most of the areas.
