How would high temperatures and little precipitation affect wildlife that live in and around a wide, shallow pond?

High temperatures would make the pond itself evaporate relatively quickly, and with little precipitation, it wouldn't be able to replace the pond.

Wildlife that lives in the pond would die out from the 'drought-like' features and animals that lived near it would have to find another water source to rely on.
