If each of the numbers in the following data set were multiplied by 17, what

would be the median of the data set?

1. Put the data in order (Least to Greatest.)
14, 18, 20, 28, 36, 58, 71

2. Multiple by 17.
238, 306, 340, 476, 612, 986, 1207

3. Find the Median.
Because this equation is odd, your median will end up right in the middle of the data. Meaning 476 is the Median.

You can check your answer by taking the surrounding two numbers and doing 340+612/2=476.
