the height of tree can be calculated using pythagauras theorem

so

6^2 + x^2 = 10^2

36+x^2 = 100

x^2 = 100-36 = 64

x=√64

x= 8

so height of tree upto ladder reach is 8 feet so option 3 is answer

5) using same rule above

9^2 + x^2 = 15^2

81 + x^2 = 225

x^2 = 225 - 81 = 144

x = √144

x = 12

so height of tree upto ladder reach is 12 feet, so option 3 is answer

Answer is 8 feet

10 ft ladder = hypotenuse
6 ft away = one side

That makes a right angled triangle
so
by using Pythagoras theorem,

AB² + BC² = AC²
6² + BC² = 10²
36 + BC² = 100
100 - 36 = BC²
64 = BC²
8 = BC

Similarly, in Q 5

Answer is 12 feet
