Answer: 8.3 feet

We know the area of 1 tile is:

1tile=1ft^(2) (1)

We also know Jack used 103.75 tiles to cover the whole bathroom floor, which is a rectangle.

Remembering (1), we have that:

103.75tiles=103.75ft^(2) (2)

Which is also the area of the rectangle from which we only have the value of one of its sides, the width
w:

w=12.5ft (3)

In addition, the area
A of a rectangle is given by the following equation:

A=w.l (4)

Where
l is the length.

Substituting the value of the width written in (3) and the area (2) in equation (4):

103.75ft^(2)=(12.5ft)l (5)

We finally have the value of the length of the bathroom floor:

l=8.3ft
