Explanation;
Catabolic pathways breakdown molecules into smaller units that are either oxidized to release energy or used in other anabolic reactions.
Catabolic pathways create energy for the cell. The goal of catabolic pathways is to take energy out of molecules such as glucose,fatty acids and amino acids and store it in energy carriers (ATP) and electron carriers like NAD and Flavin-Adenine Dinucleotide (FAD) and also NADP+.
