At one farmer's market, bananas cost $0.80 per pound. At another farmer's market, bananas are sold in 5-pound bags for $4.50 per bag. Which explains how to find the better buy?

Divide the second amount by five to find out how much it costs at the second farmers market to get 1 pound of bananas.
5/5=1
4.50/5=.9
.9>.8 so the first farmers market had a better deal.

Answer: The better buy is the one where banana is sold for $0.80 per pound.

At one farmer's market, bananas in the market cost $0.80 per pound while at another farmer's market, the bananas are sold in 5-pound bags for $4.50 per bag. In this market , a pound of banana will be sold for $4.50 divided by 5 which will be $0.9.

The firs market has banana sold as

at $0.80 per pound while in the second market, bananas are sold for $0.90 per bag since 5 pounds are sold for $4.50.

The better buy is the one where banana is sold for $0.80 per pound.
