As you can see, in this reaction, 'A' has replaced 'C' in the compound 'BC'

Combination reactions are simply when two elements combine

Combination: A + B = AB

As you can see, 'A' and 'B' have combined to form 'AB'

Decomposition is when the compound is broken down

AB = A + B

As you can see 'AB' has broken down into just 'A' and 'B'
