Hi!

To solve this we have to get b on one side of the equation by itself.

Given the equation:

5 = 4/2(-1) + b

First, we divide 4 by 2, which is 2. Now we have:

5 = 2(-1) + b

Now we multiply 2 by -1, which is -2. Now we have:

5 = -2 + b

Now, we add 2 to both sides in order to cancel out the -2:

5 = -2 + b

+2 +2

7 = b

Hope this helps ! :D
