How many total amino acids are there to build all the different proteins in organisms?

There is one amino acid for each protein and the amount of amino acids depends on where your start and end codons are. If you know where your start and end codons are, count 3 letters, (i.e. AGC), then move to the next three. Start from the start codon and for every three letters, there is an amino acid.

Hope this helped!
