the power represents the number of solutions so 2 solutions

x^2+4x-2=0
factor it by completing the square
move 2 to other side
find a new “c” term by the equation (-b/2)^2
(-4/2)^2 = 4
add 4 to both side

x^2+4x+4=2+4
now you can factor the equation
(x+2)^2= 6
take the square root
x+2= ± √6 (√6= √4+ √2); √4=2
solve it
x=-2+ √6
x=-2-√6
there the 2 solutions
