The circumference of a circle is pi cm. Find the area of the circle. Show all work and leave the answer in terms of pi and correct units.

Answer:

The area = 0.25π cm² =
(1)/(4)\pi cm²

Explanation:

∵ The circumference of the circle = 2πr

∴ 2πr= π ⇒ divide two sides by π

∴ 2r = 1 ⇒ ∴ r = 1/2

∵ Area of the circle = πr²

∴ Area = π(1/2)² = 1/4 π = 0.25π cm²
