Explanation:

<M + <R = 180

We know M = 5x+10 R = 45

Substituting these values in

5x+10 + 45 = 180

Combine like terms

5x+55 = 180

Subtract 55 from each side

5x+55-55 = 180 -55

5x = 125

Divide each side by 5

5x/5 = 125/5

x = 25
