In the figure shown, the overall diagram is in the shape of a rectangle with a length of 12 cm. On the other side, where the hall is located, there are two additional rooms that are 2cm and 3cm in length. Taking 12 - 2 - 3 = 7 cm,which is the length of the hall. The width of the hall is the same as all the rooms on that side, 2.5 cm.

A = 2.5 x 7 = 17.5 cm

To find the area in meters, you can set up a proportion:


(centimeters)/(meters)=(1)/(400)=(17.5)/(x)
