A truck travels from town A to town B. The truck has 3/4 of gas in tank. it uses 1/3 of gas for the entire trip. The capacity of tank is 70 gallons. How many gallons of gas did the truck use for this trip?

17.5

Explanation:

The truck started at 3/4 of a tank so you have to multiple 3/4 by 70 because 70 is the capacity of the tank

3/4 can be converted to .75 and them multiply it by 70

.75 * 70 = 52.5

now the truck used 1/3 of the gas which is 1/3 of 52.5

1/3 can be converted to .3333333333333333

.3333333333333333 * 52.5 = 17.5

so 17.5 is your answer
