The vertex of the original is (0,)

The vertex for Part A is (4,12)

The vertex for part B is (-8,-9)

So both vertex are shifted according to the numbers in the equation.

the number inside the parenthesis with x shifts the graph left or right. Subtraction moves it right, addition moves it left

so (x-4) moves it 4 units to the right and (x+8) moves it 8 units to the left.

Then the numbers after the parenthesis move the graph up or down. Adding moves it up, subtraction moves it down.

+12 moves the graph 12 units up, -9 moves the graph 9 units down.
