If the applied force changes to 520 N, what is the acceleration of the block up the ramp? Given mass = 46kg Angle of ramp = 50 degrees from horizontal Coefficient of friction = 0.38 Original Fa = 455.4 a =?

The normal force Fn = m g cos 50 = 46 * 9.8 * .643 = 290 N

The frictional force u Fn = .38 * 290 = 110 N

The gravitational force along the ramp Fg = m g sin 50 = 345 N

The net force "up" the ramp is then (520 - 110 - 345) = 64.7 N

So a = F / m = 64.7 N / 46 kg = 1.41 m/s^2
