the highest-caliber cannon ever built (though never used) is located in Moscow Russia. The diameter of the cannon’s bar is about 82 cm, and the cannon’s mass is 35027 kg. Suppose the cannon were lifted by airplane. If the potential energy associated with this cannon were 8.88 x 10^8 J, what would be it’s height above sea level?

PE = m*g*h = 3.6x10^4*9.8*h = 6.88x10^8

So h = 6.88x10^8/(3.6x10^4*9.8) = 1950m

Answer: 2.586km above sea level

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

d = 82 cm

m = 35027kg

h = ?

P.E = 8.88*10⁸J

g = 9.8m/s²

P.E = m*g*h

h = E / m*g

h = 8.88*10⁸ / 35027*9.8

h = 2586.925

h = 2.586km above sea level
