Answer: 1) 0.033 liter

2) 1.188 liter.

Explanation:

1) Let x gram of water is added with 99 g sugar,

Thus, the resultant quantity of the mixture = x + 99 gram

Since, water has 0 % of sugar and 99 gram sugar has 100 % of sugar,

0 % of x + 100% of 99 = 75% of (x+99)

⇒ 0 + 99 = 0.75 (x+99)

⇒ 99 = 0.75 x + 74.25

⇒ 99 - 74.25 = 0.75 x

⇒ 24.75 = 0.75 x

33 = x

Hence, the quantity of water mixed = 33 gram = 0.033 liter. ( 1 liter = 1000 gram)

2) Let y gram of water is added with 12 g sugar,

Thus, the resultant quantity of the mixture = x + 12 gram

Since, water has 0 % of sugar and 12 gram sugar has 100 % of sugar,

⇒ 0 % of y + 100% of 12 = 1% of (y+12)

⇒ 0 + 12 = 0.01 (y+12)

⇒ 12= 0.01 y + 0.12

⇒ 12 - 0.12= 0.01 y

⇒ 11.88 = 0.01 y

1188 = y

Hence, the quantity of water mixed = 1188 gram = 1.188 liter. ( 1 liter = 1000 gram)
