Lets remeber the differences between imperialism and colonialism. A country that is imperialist can posses colonies, but possesing colonies can't be possible without being imperialist. Imperialist countries focus more on political and monetary dominance, either formally or not. Colonialism is when a country has territories outside it's borders and doesn't incorporate them, the habitants don't have the same rights as the citizens of the possesing state.
