3x-y=12 .....[1]


-3x+5y= -4 .....[2]

Adding equation [1] and [2] to eliminate x we have;


(3x-y)+(-3x+5y) = 12-4


3x-y-3x+5y= 8

Combine like terms;


4y= 8

Divide both sides by 4 we get;

y = 2

Substitute the value of y in [1] we get;

3x-2= 12

Add 2 to both sides we get;

3x = 14

Divide both sides by 3 we get;

x = 4.67

Therefore, the solution for this system of equation is, (4.67, 2)
