A cartel differs from a monoply in tha businesses making the same product agree to limit production.

In a monopoly, only one single business exists and is in charge with controling the production of a certain goods in the market.

For cartel, there are several established businesses with different ownership, but they agreed on controling their production in an attempt to maintain the price level in the market.
