Ans: Decomposition

A decomposition reaction is one in which a compound breaks down into thwo or more smaller compounds.

The given reaction is:

NaHCO3 + H2O → CO2 + NaOH + H2O

In this reaction sodium bicarbonate breaks down to carbon dioxide and water. Therefore, this represents a decomposition reaction.
