The graph for the equation y=2x+4 is shown below.

If another equation is graphed so that the system has one solution, which equation could that be?

y=2x-4
y=2(x+2)
y=2(x-4)
y=x+4

PLEASE HELP!

Answer:

y=x+4 is the another equation so that the system has one solution.

Explanation:

y=2x+4

find the another equation so that the system has one solution

When the slopes are equal then the lines are pependicular to each other. Then the lines never intersect.

So we should not consider the equation that has same slope

y=2x+4 , the slope of given line is 2

y=2x-4, slope =2 (same slope)

y=2(x+2)

y=2x+4 , slope =2 (same slope)

y=2(x-4)

y=2x-8, slope =2 (same slope)

y=x+4 , slope = 1 (different slope)

So y=x+4 is the another equation so that the system has one solution.
