6* 3-2(\pi * (1.5)^2)

Explanation:

The area of the tip of plastic is equal to area of rectangle minus area of two circles.

Now we know that the length(l) of rectangle=6 in.

and width of rectangle(b)= diameter of the circle= 3 in.

Hence, Area of rectangle=l×b=6×3=18 square inches.

Now as diameter of circle= 3 in.

Radius of circle(r)= (3/2)=1.5 in.

Hence Area of circle=
