Answer:

The percentage of students signed up for neither canoeing nor trekking is 45% .

Option (A) is correct .

Explanation:

Formula

Percentage = (Part\ value* 100)/(Total\ value)

As given

Out of the 150 students at a summer camp .

72 signed up for canoeing there were 23 students who signed up for trekking and 13 of those students also signed up for canoeing .

As the table is given below.

Total students signed up for canoeing and trekking = Student signed up for

canoeing + Students signed up for trekking - Number of students are signed up for canoeing from students signed up for trekking .

Putting all the values in the above

Total canoeing nor trekking= 72 + 23 - 13

= 82

Thus

Number of students neither signed up for canoeing nor trekking = Total Number of students - Students signed up for canoeing nor trekking .

Number of students neither signed up for canoeing nor trekking = 150 - 82

= 68

Putting all the values in the formula

Part value = 68

Total value = 150

Percentage = (68* 100)/(150)

= 45 % (Approx)

Therefore the percentage of students signed up for neither canoeing nor trekking is 45% .

Option (A) is correct .
