for the sequence you are subtracting 5 from it. Because 32 + 5 =37, 37+5 = 42,. 42+ 5 = 47. so you are subtracting 5 from it. so from the problem, it would be one of the last two.

Answer:
\bold{(D)\ a_n=52-5n}

Explanation:

The explicit rule for an arithmetic sequence is:
a_n=a_1+d(n-1)\quad \text{where}\ a_1\ \text{is the first term and d is the difference}

In the given sequence {47, 42, 37, 32, ... }, the first term
(a_1) is 47 and the difference (d) is 42 - 47 = -5

a_n=47-5(n-1)\\.\quad=47-5n+5\\.\quad=52-5n
