To evaluate any term from the n th term formula substitute the terms position value for n

given
a_(n) = 25 - 3n, then

(a)


a_(1) = 25 - (3 × 1) = 25 - 3 = 22


a_(2) = 25 - (3 × 2) = 25 - 6 = 19


a_(3) = 25 - (3 × 3) = 25 - 9 = 16

(b)


a_(10) = 25 - (3 × 10) = 25 - 30 = - 5
