It’s 35.5 divided by (10x10) which is 100. then you do 35.5 divided by 100 which is 0.355 because you move the decimal point 2 times to the left

35.5 / 10^2

35.5 / 10 x 10

Use PEMDAS:

Parentheses

Exponent

Multiply (from left to right)

Divide (from left to right)

Add (from left to right)

Subtract (from left to right)

According to Google:

n the United States, the acronym PEMDAS is common. It stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction. PEMDAS is often expanded to the mnemonic "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". In mathematics and computer programming, the order of operations is a collection of rules that reflect conventions about which procedures to perform first in order to evaluate a given mathematical expression.
