Firstly, we divide nutrients into macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients.

Carbohydrates come under macro-nutrient where as vitamins are micro-nutrients. That means carbohydrates are required in large quantities and vitamins are needed in small quantities.

Carbohydrate are the primary source of energy where as vitamins are needed for several biochemical functions and for proper maintenance of the body.

Some examples of carbohydrates are like starch, glycogen, cellulose. Vitamins are classified as water soluble (Vitamin B complex, vitamin C) and water insoluble (Vitamin A, D, E, K).
