Sarah threw a ball with a initial velocity of 22 meters per second. The quadratic function h(t)=4.9t^2+22t+5.5 represents the height of the ball above the ground, in meters, with respect of time t, in seconds. Determine h(3) and explain what it represents

h(3) means that t = 3 seconds.

Replace t in the equation and solve:

h(t) = 4.9t^2+22t+5.5

h(3) = 4.9(3)^2+22(3) +5.5

h(3) = 4.9(9) + 66+5.5

h(3) = 44.1 + 71.5

h(3) = 115.6

This means the ball was 115.6 meters above the ground at 3 seconds.
