Answer:

D) Jack made a mistake while squaring first term, 16x^2 - 8x +1

Explanation:

(4x-1)^2

we apply (a-b)^2 formula

(a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab +b^2

a= 4x and b= 1

Replace 'a' with 4x and 'b' with 1

(4x-1)^2 = (4x)^2 - 2(4x)(1) +1^2

(4x)^2 is 16x^2

(4x-1)^2 = 16x^2 - 8x +1

Jack made a mistake while squaring first term

(4x)^2 is 4^2x^2 that is 16x^2
