They had what one can call a more humanistic approach. Their gods were like normal humans, with all the passions and problems we have, also the Greeks believed in a good balance between body and mind, by dedicating themselves to physical activities and studies, under the umbrella term philosophy they studied grammar, mathematics, a rudimentar approach to the scientific method and philosophy itself.in some cities they had a democractic approach to solve problems, by gathering together to discuss the issues of the city.
On the other hand, they still had lots of problems, for example they had slaves, who did not have the rights as free citizens did, constant warefare among the cities as they did not have a central government, democracy was attainable only for the free men (not women, although it is suggested that they helped influence their husbands' opinions) and they did not have a full bill of rights like modern societies have.
