Why is radar useful when mapping areas that tend to be covered in clouds

Radar uses sound to bounce off objects that send waves back to the radar showing where said objects are located.

Radar uses waves of energy to map a surface. The waves can move through clouds and water, so a cloudy area can be mapped.
