note the line crosses the y-axis at - 3 ⇒ c = - 3

y = 2x - 3 ← is the equation of the line

Since (k, 10) lies on the line then the coordinates of the point make the equation true.

substitute (k, 10) into the equation and solve for k

10 = 2k - 3 ( add 3 to both sides )

13 = 2k ( divide both sides by 2 ), hence
