King Phillip's war is considered the deadliest war in the history of American colonization. In less than one year colonist lost one-tenth of all men available for military service, 12 of the region towns were shattered. However, some indians helped the colonists like John Sassamon who was converted to Christianity and played a role of cultural mediator and Metacomet (king Phillip) lost the war thanks to the intervention of the Mohawks so this cemented the idea that American Indians could become civilized over time, with proper gudance.
