We know that is the two angle are equal, the two sides opposite them are equal (isosceles triangle) so both legs of the right triangle are 8

Then using the pythagorean theorem

a^2 + b^2 =c^2

where a and b are the legs (which are both 8 in this case) and c=h

8^2 + 8^2 = h^2

64+64 = h^2

128 = h^2

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(128) = sqrt(h^2)

We know that sqrt(ab) = sqrt(a) sqrt(b)

sqrt(2) sqrt(64) = h

8 sqrt(2) = h
