x= -4 & y=-12

Explanation:

multiply y=3x by 2

giving you 2y=6x

subtracting 2y=x+20 from 2y =6x

=> 5x=-20

dividing through by 5

=> x=-4

put x=-4 into y=3x

=> y=3(-4)

y=-12
