Because when you switch the signs for substraction like 2-3 you will get -1, but if you do 3-2, then youll get 1. The Same goes for this question. If you plug in 2 for t, like 13(2)-4(2), it will be 26-8, which is 18. But if you do the same for the other equation, 4(2)-13(2), you will get 8-26, which equals -18. So -18 does not equal 18 because one postive and the other is negative.
