Hi there.

To find the value of f(-5), we need to substitute x = -5 in the equation.

f( - 5 ) = 4(3 - ( - 5))

Now then, know the basic rules of multiplying in the negative.

When you multiply the negative with the negative, you will get the positive.

Thus, - (-5) = 5

f( - 5) = 4(3 + 5) \\ f( - 5) = 4(8)

Then distribute 4 inside.

f( - 5) = 32

Therefore, the answer is f(-5) = 32
