5x - 3 = (2x + 25)2

multiply

5x - 3 = 4x + 50

ad 3 to both sides

5x = 4x + 53

subtract 4x from both sides

x = 53

Input into the equation to check:

5x - 3 = (2x + 25)2

5(53) - 3 = (2(53) + 25)2

265 - 3 = (106 + 25)2
