x < 8,x > 2

$| - 10 + 2x| < 6 \\ |2x - 10| < 6$

2 conditions for absolute value.

(1) 2x-10 when x>=0

$2x - 10 < 6 \\ 2x < 6 + 10 \\ 2x < 16 \\ x < 8$

(2)-2x+10 when x<0

$- 2x + 10 < 6 \\ - 2x < 6 - 10 \\ - 2x < - 4 \\ x > 2$

From both conditions. The answer is 2<x<8
