The equation for slope is y2 - y1 and x2 - x1. So you do 5(y2) - 4 (y1) which is 1. And 6(x2) - 8(x1) which is -2. Put 1 as the numerator and -2 as the denominator as you got -1/2. The fraction is negative because the -2 made it that way
