  • 6x + 11 - 2x = -5
  • 4x + 11 = -5
  • 4x = -5 - 11
  • 4x = -16
  • x = -16 ÷ 4
  • x = -4

The value of x = -4

Check:

  • -24 + 11 + 8 = -5
  • -24 + 19 = -5
