When two forces are the same strength but acting opposite direction they are called balanced forces again tug-of-war is a perfect example if the people on each side of the rope are pulling with the same strength but it opposite direction the forces are balanced the result is no motion

If the forces on an object are balanced (or if there are no forces acting on it), this is what happens:
a stationary object stays still
a moving object continues to move at the same speed and in the same direction
